If you have an old Gamecube that can't read discs, don't get rid of it yet. You may be able to fix it by cleaning off the laser. After I tried this on my Gamecube, it never had problems reading.

The Disc could not be read: Ensure the game is inserted correctly. With the power turned off on the system, replace the Game Disc in the system, printed side up. Probably not so many people playing Nintendo Gamecube today (2018), but I still though I'd throw this into a little video just in case. Make sure to subscribe 😉 The reason for not uploading in. I picked up a GameCube that was said to not read game discs.

Here's how I figured out what was wrong and how I fixed it. Interested in the multimeter I used in this video? Here's the review I did. Go to your local grocery or drug store, get a bottle of rubbing alcohol for about a buck, clean the lens, leave it alone for a couple hours.

If you're still having problems, call Nintendo's CS line. #21 the_deej I'm making roffles 100%. It means the Gamecube can't read the disk. It could just be that your laser lens is dirty. Wet a q-tip with soft or filtered water and wipe the lens gently. Use a dry q-tip to dry it and see if that fixes.

Step 1 Remove the gamecube case, the fan and then lift up CD assembly Step 2 Remove the metal shielding from the underside, held on by tiny screws. Step 3 Look at the underside of the circuit board and locate the tiny voltage control. Step 4 Take a small Phillips head screwdriver and turn it a tiny bit clockwise.

There is probably a large scratch or a large amount of smaller scratches on your disk. There are repair kits you can use that normally repair the disks enough to play again. If there is no scratch but a lot of smudges, take a fine, clean cloth and rub the bottom gently until it looks clean. level 2. by pushing on the disk. If the disk is tilted to one side, this is your problem.

If the disk is sitting tight and does NOT appear to be at an angle, then re-attach it to the shaft, this repair. Spread toothpaste on the disc. This disc repair method should be used as a last resort.

Using plain, white toothpaste, rub a quarter-sized amount in a circular motion with your fingers on the disc. Cover the reflective side of the disc completely. The sad reality is that there is no easier fix. Your laser is wearing out, and the best way to fix it is to adjust the potentiometer inside the cube or just buy a new GameCube.

pop the disk in so that the title is lined up horizontally (or just remember its starting orientation), then try and play the disk, when it give you the error, open the lid and check the orientation of the disk, if it isn't the same as when you closed the lid, it spun If the disk isn't spinning, that's the.
